As we normally do, the first thing to do when faced with a word problem is to carefully read the problem while taking note of key words for a better understanding.
Next, you are reminded that adding and subtracting decimals is just the same as adding and subtracting whole numbers. The only thing to remember is to line up the decimal points so that when you stack them, they will be directly on top of each other.
